Additional Information:A 'site file' exists for this property. It contains additional information such as correspondence, newspaper clippings, or historical information. It is a public record and may be viewed in person at the Wisconsin Historical Society, State Historic Preservation Office. #650: MN63-10, Vilas House. Altered from stables to a theatre, the original Vilas coach house has retained its original outer appearance. The building is built of cream brick n contrast to the red brick of the main house. The flared gable ends are clad in wooden shingles and there is a large gabled dormer on each side elevation. The roof is topped with a small cupola with finial (damaged). A later double garage addition has been added to the rear of the building. The Vilas stable is considered part of the original Vilas property.
