Additional Information:BUILT IN C. 1828 (SEE BIB. REF. A), THIS ONE-STORY SIDE GABLED HOUSE FEATURES A RECTANGULAR SHAPED PLAN CONFIGURATION, A STONE AND LOG EXTERIOR, A WOOD TRIM AND A SHINGLED MULT-GABLE ROOF. THE LOG CABIN, WHICH WAS MOVED TO THE SITE IN 1970, IS BUILT OF HAND-HEWN, PIT SAWN LUMBER. THE STONE ADDITION LOCATED AT THE SIDE OF THE LOG BUILDING WAS CONSTRUCTED AT AN UNSPECIFIED DATE. (SEE BIB. REF. A). A POSTED SIGN INDICATES THAT THE LOG PORTION WAS BUILT IN C. 1828. THIS DWELLING IS IN GOOD CONDITION.

THE BUILDING SERVED AS A RESIDENCE FROM ITS DATE OF CONSTRUCTION IN C. 1828 UNTIL 1958. IT IS CURRENTLY BEING USED AS RETAIL SPACE.

THE STRUCTURE WAS DESIGNATED LOCALLY IN 1972 AND IS PART OF THE MINERAL POINT LANDMARK DISTRICT.
