NOTES
Additional Information:Local Landmarks Commission puts a c. 1855 date on the house and calls it the Uerling House. Front porch is a later addition. Rear addition was constucted in 1994.

This one and one-half story side gable house is built of fieldstone rubble and features details from the Greek Revival style of architecture. It has a low-pitched gable roof with a frieze and returned eaves. A one-story addition projects from the rear of the house. Windows are multiple-pane double-hung sashes and on the front facade, the second story windows are very small and narrow. A full front porch in the front facade has a hip roof and four plain columns. The main entrance is flanked by sidelights and topped with a transom.

Mequon had a number of stone and fieldstone buildings, most of which show fine construction details. This house is one of the better and more elaborate examples of this type of construction. Its high level of preservation adds to its significance. Because it is an outstanding example of a frequently seen and important construction type in Mequon, it is significant for architecture.
