NOTES
Additional Information:This one and one half story front gabled house features a rectangular shaped plan configuration, an asphalt sided exterior, a wood trim, and an asphalt shingled gable roof. The area beneath the overhanging eaves is lined with frieze boards, and the sash windows on the first story have two over two panes. The residence is in fair condition. It was built in 1860. (See Bib. Ref. A). A related structure is a garage, a building of which no description was given in the Intensive Survey Form. Architectural/Engineering Significance: This property meets cirteria C of the National register requirements because the property retains enough of the character that it had when the town of Barton was growing and developing. This building contributes to the whole character of the Barton Historic District. Historical Background: There is some speculation that this building was erected by Barton Templers for use as a Templer Hall.
