Additional Information: | This one and one half story other vernacular styled house features a rectangular shaped plan configuration, a stucco foundation, an aluminum/vinyl sided exterior, a wood trim, and an asphalt shingled multi-gabled roof. Projecting forward on the facade is a two story bay capped by a gabled roof. An addition was built in 1985. (See Bib. Ref. A). The residence, which is in fair condition, was constructed in 1900. (See Bib. Ref. A). It is related to a garage, a building which was built in 1986. (See Bib. Ref. A). Architectural/Engineering Singificance: This property meets criteria C of the National Register requirements because the property retains enough of the character that it had when the town of Barton was growing and developing. This building contributes to the whole character of the Barton Historic District. (According to the Intensive Survey Form, the dwelling was found in 1987 to be contributing to the then potential Barton Historic District). |
