NOTES
Additional Information:This one and one half story house, designed in the Bungalow style, features a square shaped plan configuration, a stucco foundation, an aluminum/vinyl sided exterior and trim, and an asphalt shingled gable roof. Centered on the facade is a large attic story gabled dormer. The windows of this dormer, as well as most of those throughout the house, have one-over-one panes. Spanning the full length of the facade is a front porch, whose shed roof is supported by short squared posts which rest on brick bases. A simple railing and a wooden porch base are other porch elements. An entrance on the side elevation is sheltered by a shed roofed door hood accented with brackets. The residence was built in 1921 and is in fair condition. (See Bib. Ref. A). It is related to a garage, a building of which no description was given in the Intensive Survey Form.

Architectural/Engineering Significance:

This property meets criteria C of the National Register requirements because the property retains enough of the character that it had when the town of Barton was growing and developing. This building contributes to the whole character of the Barton Historic District. (According to the Intensive Survey Form, this dwelling was found in 1987 to be contributing to the then proposed Barton Historic District).
