| Additional Information: | This one and one half story Bungalow styled house features a rectangular shaped plan configuration, a stucco foundation, a clapboard and wood shingled exterior, a wood trim, and an asphalt shingled gable roof. Distinguishing this roof is an attic story front dormer, detailed with a gabled roof, bargeboard, exposed rafter ends and corner boards. The windows of this dormer as well as those found on the rest of the dwelling have one-over-one panes. Spanning the full length of the facade is a front porch whose roof is supported by short flaired posts on brick bases. A garage is attached at the side elevation below grade at basement level. (The garage is considered to be a building related to the house). The 1920 residence is in fair condition. (See Bib. Ref. A). Architectural/Engineering Significance: This property meets criteria C of the National Register requirements because the property retains enough of the character that it had when the town of Barton was growing and developing. This building contributes to the whole character of the Barton Historic District. |
