Additional Information: | This one and one half story front gabled house features a rectangular shaped plan configuration, an aluminum/vinyl sided exterior, a wood trim and an asphalt shingled gable roof. A pent roof on the front visually separates the first and attic stories. A brick exterior chimney is visible at the side elevation. Additions were constructed, including a new dormer in 1963 and a garage in 1980. The residence was built in 1905 and is in fair condition. (See Bib. Ref. A). Architectural/Engineering Significance: This property meets the criteria C of the National Register requirements because the property retains enough of the character that it had when the town of Barton was growing and developing. This building contributes to the whole character of the Barton Historic District. |
