| Additional Information: | This two story front gabled house features an L-shaped plan configuration, an asphalt sided exterior, a wood trim and an asphalt shingled multi-gable roof. A porch was enclosed in 1963 and an addition was built in 1983. (See Bib. Ref. A). The residence, constructed in 1846, is in fair condition. (See Bib. Ref. A). It is related to a garage, a building of which was added in 1983. (See Bib. Ref. A). Architectural/Engineering Significance: This property meets cirteria C of the National Register requirements because the property retains enough of the character that it had when the town of Barton was growing and developing. This building contributes to the whole character of the Barton Historic District. |
