Additional Information: | This two story commercial vernacular styled building features a rectangular shaped plan configuration, a brick exterior, a concrete and brick trim and an asphalt shingled stepped gable roof. A corbelled brickwork cornice appears at the front beneath the stepped parapet, and a denticulated cornice appears at the side elevation. The windows on the second story have one-over-one panes with projecting sills. The windows on the side elevation, although boarded over, still retain their decorative scrolled lintels. The storefront is distinguished by pilasters which are capped by concrete. Three of the four pilasters continue above the storefront to the second story. Two entrances are on the facade, one has sidelights, both have transom windows. The historic hotel building is in fair condition. According to the Intensive Survey Form, this building was considered in 1976 to be contributing to the then proposed Barton Historic District. |
