The first owners of this house were Christian and Emma Ruck. Ruck owned the Cedarburg Flour Mill across the creek from the house. Ruck was born in Wisconsin ca 1858 and Emma was born in this state about one year later. In 1910 son Louis also lived with them and was also a miller. He was 28 at the time. He still lived with his family and worked as a miller in 1923. Daughter Norma worked as a book-keeper. The house remained in the family until well after 1935. |
