Additional Information: | A TWO-STORY STONE COMMERCIAL STRUCTURE WITH A FLAT SLOPING ROOF THAT HAS A RECESSED BRICK (NOW PAINTED) FRONT FRAMED BY BRICK PILASTERS. A CORNICE OF RECESSED PANELS AND DENTICULATED BRICK ACCENTS THE FACADE. THE STORE FRONT HAS BEEN ALTERED THROUGH THE YEARS. THIS HISTORICALLY IMPORTANT STRUCTURE SERVED AS AN EARLY COMMERCIAL STRUCTURE AND HAD A ROLE IN THE DEVELOPMENT OF DARLINGTON'S COMMERCIAL DISTRICT. THE HISTORICAL NAME OF THIS STRUCTURE HAS NOT BEEN DETERMINED. FOR THE MOST PART OF THE LATE 19TH CENTURY IT HAS BEEN A DRY GOOD AND GROCERY STORE. BY THE TURN OF THE CENTURY IT HAD BECOME A CLOTHING STORE.(A,B) IT WAS OCCUPIED BY GROSSMAN BROTHERS (SAMUEL AND JOSEPH), GENT'S READY TO WEAR.(B,C) IT REMAINED A MEN'S CLOTHING STORE INTO THE 1920.S Covenant/Easement: From 6/10/1994 to 6/10/1999.
