Additional Information:ARCHITECTURAL STATEMENT: THIS TWO STORY STUCCO HOUSE IS BASICALLY A GABLE ROOFED RECTANGLE WITH THE LONG AXIS PARALLEL TO THE STREET. APPLIED TO THIS FORM IS A ONE STORY CONSERVATORY AND ON THE FACADE, A GABLE ROOFED PORCHA AND DORMER. FRAME VERTICAL BOARDS UNITE BANDS OF WINDOWS AND FORM A RUDIMENTARY HALF TIMBER DETAIL IN THE GABLE ENDS. THE BUILDING IS ARCHITECTURALLY SIGNIFICANT AND IS, STYLISITCALLY A HYBRID, COMBINING FORMS AND MOTIFS ASSOCIATED WITH THE PRAIRIE SCHOOL, ARTS AND CRAFTS DESIGNS AND THE BUNGALOW TYPE. THIS COMBINATION OF DETAILS AND MATIERIALS RESULTS IN A VERY COHESIVE DESIGN. A SIMILAR HOUSE DESIGN IS LOCATED AT 1856 OREGON (WN 27/4). HISTORICAL STATEMENT: IN 1918, JOHN J. DAVIS, EFFICIENCY MANAGER FOR PAINE LUMBER, LIVED IN THE HOUSE. THAT IS THE FIRST LISTING AT THIS ADDRESS. (A)
