SCHLITZ BREWERY PAID TO HAVE THE BUILDING CONSTRUCTED. WILLIAM C. KNIESLER WAS THE ORIGINAL OWNER AND HAS REMAINED IN THE FAMILY EVER SINCE. NICKNAMED THE "WHITEHOUSE" BECAUSE LOCAL POLITICIANS HAVE FREQUENTED THE TAVERN.

Also nicknamed "The Capitol".

Well conserved frame saloon with a pentagonal plan and Queen Anne elements.

Milwaukee Landmarks Commission did research on this building.
