NOTES
Additional Information:THIS WATERS DESIGN IS A MONUMENTAL EXAMPLE OF THE CLASSICAL REVIVAL. ESSENTIALLY A CRUCIFORM IN PLAN, THE FOCAL POINT IS A CENTRALLY LOCATED DOME. WELL DEFINED PILASTERS SUPPORT THE ENTABLATURE WHICH BREAKS IN EACH GABLE TO ALLOW THE RISE OF A LARGE ROUNDED TRACERY WINDOW. STYLISTICALLY THIS CHURCH IS VERY SIMIALR TO THE PUBLIC LIBRARY (106 WASHINGTON, ALSO DESIGNED BY WATERS). IT WAS ERECTED IN 1901, AND WAS OCCUPIED BY 1902.
