Additional Information: | HABS WI-296. This two story structure is divided into three equal sections by simple pilasters. Each of these sections contains two segmentally arched window openings and a cornice composed of corbelled brick. The building has been remodeled, with aluminum windows inserted on the second story, and new storefronts on the first story. This building was constructed around 1910 as a three bay commercial block. It is on the 1912 Sanborn Perris Map and in the 1912 City Directory but not in the 1907-8 Directory. The two northernmost bays were occupied by the Jules Iverson Jewelry Store and the southernmost by the Stevens Point Water Company. This latter was a private company which became the city water department in the early 1920's. |
