Additional Information:A 'site file' exists for this property. It contains additional information such as correspondence, newspaper clippings, or historical information. It is a public record and may be viewed in person at the Wisconsin Historical Society, State Historic Preservation Office. TALL LIGHT AND FOG HORN ON END OF PIER IN ALGOMA HARBOR. The earliest Algoma lighthouse was built in 1892. The upper portion of today's cylindrical tower was constructed in 1908 when the original lighthouse was remodeled. The lighthouse in its present form dates to 1932.
