NOTES
Additional Information:This 1-story Postmodern bank was constructed c.1980 as a local branch of the Milwaukee-based Marshall & Ilsley (M&I) Bank. It is rectangular in plan with a concrete foundation, stack-bond brick walls, and a membrane-clad, asymmetrically-pitched gable roof. The front elevation faces north and is asymmetrical in composition with a vertical strip of tinted glass that divides the façade and creates a broken gable. The wall west of this contains three large, square tinted glass windows in a stepped arrangement while the wall to the east contains a single metal security door near its eastern end. A flat-roofed canopy with squared supports (all of which are clad in stack-bond brick) projects from the building’s east elevation and shelters the bank’s drive-through operations. The west elevation contains a metal-framed glass door and two large tinted glass windows that span the full height of the wall. The building currently serves as the Allenton branch of the National Exchange Bank and Trust.
