| Additional Information: | This 1-story Contemporary commercial building was constructed c.1905 with a complete remodel of its primary façade c.1956. It is rectangular in plan with cast stone side walls, an enamel paneled primary façade, and a flat roof. The front elevation faces south and is asymmetrical in composition with an angled storefront recessed under an L-shaped surround with a tapered end wall and fluted fascia. The storefront windows are metal-framed and are accented by an L-shaped stone-veneered, built-in planter below that follows the angle of the windows. A metal-framed glass door with narrow sidelight and transom sits at the east end of the storefront. The building initially served as a meat market prior to its remodeling for use as the offices of the Kiel Savings and Loan. |
