Additional Information: | This is a one-story cube vernacular form constructed circa 1938. It is rectangular in plan with a steeply pitched hipped roof that is characteristic of a “pyramidal cottage” house type. A full-width open air porch spans the principal (west) elevation, although, at the time of survey, the supports and railings are being replaced. The foundation is both rock-faced concrete block and replacement smooth concrete block below the porch. The exterior is clad in clapboard siding, although, at the time of survey, the exterior was being reclad. The hipped roof is clad in asphalt shingles with narrow closed eaves. An internal brick chimney rises from the roof ridge. The windows are one-over-one wood hung wood sash windows placed in a pair and individually on either side of a central entrance. The house is devoid of any architectural detailing. |
