Additional Information: | This 1 ½ story Craftsman house was constructed c.1915. It is rectangular in plan with a cast stone foundation, clapboard walls, and an asphalt-shingled front-gabled roof with overhanging eaves. Triangular brackets are located under the gables while exposed rafters are visible along the eaves of both side elevations. The front elevation faces east and is asymmetrical in composition with a recessed porch spanning the northern half of the façade (originally, this was a full-width recessed porch with the southern half enclosed at a later date; see 815 7th Street for a nearly identical plan with an intact full-width recessed porch). The porch features squared wood supports on cast concrete piers and aluminum railings. Within the porch is a single door and a bank of three 1-over-1 windows; another 1-over-1 window is located in the south wall of the recess. South of this is a bank of three 1-over-1 windows. Centered in the upper story of the façade is a recessed balcony with a pair of sliding glass doors. Large dormers are located in both side roof slopes. At the time of the 2023 site visit, the house was in the process of being re-clad in vinyl. |
