Additional Information: | This 1-story Contemporary walk-up/drive-up ice cream stand was constructed as a Dairy Queen in 1953 and remodeled sometime after 1970 in keeping with the company’s updated brand aesthetic. It is rectangular in plan with brick and aluminum siding, and a metal-shingled hipped roof with a broken gable projecting from the center of the front (south) elevation. The front wall contains a large window, above which is an illuminated menu board. West of the large window is a small walk-up order window. A second walk-up order window was located on the east side of the large window as well, but this was removed within the last five years and replaced with a solid wall panel. “Wrap-around” corner windows are located at both front corners (these are comprised of individual metal-framed windows on both wall planes). A drive-through window projects from the west elevation and is a more recent addition. |
