NOTES
Additional Information:Information from report prepared for WisDOT ID4249-09-00, CTH J Reconstruction, STH 57 to CTH M, Sheboygan County, Prepared by TES Historical Consulting, LLC (Schnell), October 2023. This two-span, concrete structure utilizes the classic post-and-beam structural form. It was built in 1967 without any apparent design embellishments. Extending from abutment-to-abutment with one intermediate pier, the bridge is 131 feet long and 35 feet wide. The deck is carried by five, symmetrically placed girders set on 7-foot centers, the outer girders being inset about 3 feet from the outer edge of the deck. The girders appear to have been precast and transported to the site. Flanking the deck is a two course railing carried by eighteen, symmetrically placed, "I" beam uprights, the top chord of which is 2 feet 9 inches above the deck. The crossing of CTH J over the Sheboygan River dates to 1967, the same year as the subject bridge was built as part of the relocation of CTH J, as previously discussed in the historic context for this report. The bridge was built by the Bleick Construction Company of Appleton, Wisconsin.
