Additional Information: | 2023: Constructed in 1952, this 73-foot-long, single-span bridge (with a clear width of 26.4 feet) employs a post-and-beam structural system utilizing concrete abutments as the posts and five steel, “I” beam girders that extend from one abutment to the other as the beams. Projecting horizontally from, and at right angles to, the two outer girders and symmetrically placed, are seven short brackets that anchor the posts carrying the single course railing on each side of the concrete traffic deck. The bridge also has concrete curbs, while the deck has an asphalt overlay that was last done in 1986. steel beam or plate girder bridge |
