Additional Information: | This flanger car (a car that clears ice, snow, or other debris below the surface of the rails where the railroad cars’ flanges hit) is constructed of metal panels and has an arched roof. The cab is slightly higher and has bays on each side. Openings are largely filled with single lights. This car was built from a scrapped steam engine. The Soo Line acquired the car when it merged with the Milwaukee Road, then sold it to the museum in 2001. |
