NOTES
Additional Information:This bank barn was constructed in 1865 according to a date inscribed in a structural member of the building’s interior. It is rectangular in plan with a stone and concrete block foundation, vertical board walls, and a metal-clad gable roof. The building consists of two large gable-roofed masses with the eastern mass oriented along an east-west axis and the western mass oriented along a north-south axis. The two masses are flush along the north elevation where a sliding barn door is located in the eastern mass and a pair of hinged doors are located in the western mass. A small rectangular window is located under the gable of the western mass. A small shed-roofed milk house with aluminum siding projects from the barn’s western elevation and contains singly placed 1-over-1 windows. The eastern and southern elevations of the barn feature exposed basement elevations with portions of the original fieldstone walls replaced with concrete block.
