Additional Information: | 2023: This house is a one-and one-half story vernacular style gabled ell type single family residence constructed in 1889. It is irregular in plan consisting of the L-shaped prominent front-gabled volume with recessed side-gable wing and a rear gabled volume. The foundation appears to be brick that has been parged with a cementitious mortar. The original cladding has been covered or replaced with vinyl siding. The moderately overhanging eaves have been closed with vinyl soffit and fascia. The house appears to retain the original fenestration pattern, including the one-by-one wood sash clerestory windows in the side-gabled wing. However, the remainder of the windows have been replaced with one-over-one vinyl sash windows. An open-air hipped roof porch spans the entirety of the side-gabled wing. Based on the curvature and bespoke nature of the porch supports, the original or older bracketed porch supports may be present beneath the vinyl cladding. Wrought iron railings span the porch posts. A one-story, hipped roof bay window extends from the gable end-wall (east elevation) of the side-gabled wing. |
