NOTES
Additional Information:2023: This one-story, vernacular commercial building was constructed as the Bartles-Maguire Oil Company Service Station in 1925. The original structure has a rectangular footprint, brick walls, and a steeply pitched, side-gabled roof sheathed in asphalt shingles. The roof contains a shed-roof dormer inset with an illuminated clock. Above the dormer, a sign reads “ZWIEG’S.” The reconfigured main entrance faces Main Street and is sheltered under a flat awning. The façade (west elevation) has a stone veneer and contains a large, metal frame picture window. The entrance is incorporated into a one-story, brick-clad, L-shaped addition that spans the north (side) elevation and continues around the east (rear) elevation. The addition has a flat roof with a false front mansard awning on the façade. There is a one-story, wood clad addition extending from the southwest corner of the building that contains a secondary entrance. Although opened as a gas station in 1925, the building has housed Zwieg’s Grill since 1946, nearly 80 years.
