NOTES
Additional Information:2023 - This Brutalist Fire Station was constructed circa 1965. Built into a hillside as STH 33 slopes eastward towards the 7th Avenue intersection, the primary elevation faces west and is one-story in height, while rear elevation – containing the fire engine bays – faces east and is two stories in height. The flat-roofed building is constructed of pebble-dash concrete panels on the upper story, and blue-glazed brick on the exposed lower story and fire hose tower. The glass-door entrance is located in the center of the western elevation beneath a projection of the flat concrete roofline. The wide cornice is defined throughout the building, as well as at the top of the fire tower, by a row of exaggerated modillions. Fenestration throughout is limited to banks of tall narrow windows separated by wide expanses of pebble-dash concrete on the first story. A square fire tower of blue-glazed brick is located on the southern elevation, while on the western elevation, six overhead garage bay doors open onto a large concrete apron in the foreground.
