| Additional Information: | This 1-story vernacular building was constructed in 1947 as the Hillsboro Dairy Bar. It is rectangular in plan with concrete block walls and a recently-added shed roof. The front elevation faces northwest and is symmetrical in composition with a central doorway flanked by picture windows on each side; rows of decorative shingles accent the walls immediately below each window. The door and windows are sheltered by a shed-roofed awning that is clad in asphalt-shingle. A composition board sign is mounted to the wall above this, but has been painted over. The building is capped by a post-1980 shed roof that slopes down from one side elevation to the other, leaving a gap between the top edge of the building’s front wall and the edge of the roof. This space is clad in metal. |
