NOTES
Additional Information:Information from the 2022 WisDOT survey report: Topped with a hipped roof, this two-story, 1950s Contemporary style house is sheathed with stone veneer on the first floor and vertical and horizontal board siding at its mid-section and on the second floor. The wood-and-glass door is set between wide “sidelights” and sheltered by a modest overhang. Bands of windows wrap around each corner of the house—the lower-level examples retain their lower wooden venting, while a tall-and-narrow window is situated at the center of the second floor. Extending the from two-story block is a one-story, flat-roofed garage that is also finished in stone veneer. A secondary entrance located along the south side of the house is embellished with an angular open-frame porch. Designed by architect Ray Dieterich and completed in 1955, the original owners of this home were Ben and Lea Jean (Klitsner) Ulevich. Born in Milwaukee, Ulevich graduated from West Division High School and worked with his father Jacob, who established an insurance and travel business in 1915, the same year that Ben was born. He later served in a number of administrative banking positions, including president of Central Federal Savings and Loan Association (initially at 2746 N. Teutonia Avenue, Milwaukee and later with two locations at 2119 W. Capitol Drive, Milwaukee and 124th & Capitol Drive, Brookfield) before its merger with Guaranty Savings and Loan Association. He was Chairman of the Board of Guaranty at his death in 1981. The Uleviches raised their three children in the home, which they sold in 1973 and moved to Mequon. The next owners, Jules and Evelyn Brandell, remained there until 1985, when they sold to Alan M. and Tee Gee Levy.
