NOTES
Additional Information:2022: This one-story, Contemporary-style building has a T-plan footprint and a flat roof with overhanging eaves. The original c. 1930 building has walls constructed of concrete block. The main entrance is slightly off-center and approached by a wooden deck and stairs. A wood painted sign to the right of the door reads, “SCHOOL DISTRICT OF WISCONSIN DELL, ADMINISTRATIVE OFFICES.” On the west (side) elevation are two sets of paired, single light fixed windows. The roof is pierced by central brick chimney. A large c. 1940 rear addition to the building has a raised concrete foundation and vinyl replacement siding. Along the façade (south elevation) are groups of three one-over-one double hung replacement windows. A concrete set of stairs on the west elevation does not lead to a door, indicating that a secondary entrance has been removed. A secondary entrance on the east (side) elevation is approached by a wooden wheel chair ramp. The building was an auxiliary space for the 1883 Fern Dell School. The one-room school house operated until 1955 and was later moved to the Pioneer Village at Wisconsin Dells.
