This one and one half-story Flagg System house has a limestone exterior. There are one pair of ridge dormers, one gable dormer and two chimneys. There is a hip roof. Window and door openings are symmetrical. There is an octagonal tower centrally placed on the east which contains stairs to the second floor. There is a laundry room on the first floor and no basement. There is no garage. The living room has a stone fireplace and casement windows. There is a beam and girder ceiling on the first floor. The bathroom floor is one step above the level of the second floor hallway. The former front entrance and south exterior wall became the interior wall of an addition built onto the house in 1955. It contains a family room and bedroom. This house is architecturally significant because it is one of a group of stone masonry houses built in Milwaukee County by Arnold F. Meyer according Ernest Flagg's system of construction. It is similar to the house built on Beaumont for members of the family for whom this house was built. |
