NOTES
Additional Information:2021 - Pershing Elementary School is a Contemporary-style school building constructed in 1971. It is two stories in height with a rectangular footprint and box-like massing. The exterior is clad in brick with a horizontal band of concrete panels accentuating the flat roofline. The primary entrance is on the building’s west, S. 47 Street elevation and is positioned between slender, projecting brick walls. The entrance bay is two stories in height with aluminum-framed windows and concrete paneling. A secondary entrance that is similar in appearance is centered on the south elevation. Outside of the entrance bays, the exterior walls are broken up by regularly spaced brick pilasters. The defined bays between pilasters are generally void of fenestration apart from a few areas, most notably at the southwest corner of the building where there are large expanses of aluminum-framed windows. North of the school building is a parking lot and paved schoolyard.
