Additional Information: | This one-story ranch house with hipped roof was built on the east side of CTH N immediately north of Buchanan Road in 1966. The house exhibits typical features of the ranch style, including its low-pitched roof, wide eaves, and façade treatment. Its layout deviates slightly from the standard rectangular plan, as the hipped-roof garage bay projects out beyond the front of the house. A breezeway connects the garage and main portion of the house, which is divided into three bays. The entrance is set in the central bay and has a small concrete stoop with stone veneer and a pony wall. One side bay has a large tripartite window and the other has a single sash window. This section of the façade is clad in stacked stone veneer, while the remainder of the façade and secondary elevations have wide lap siding. The windows are modern replacements. The house has an asphalt shingle roof with small stone-clad chimney and metal stack, and a concrete foundation. A detached frame garage stands behind the house; the front-gable building was built in 1976 and is clad in the same lap siding as the house. |
