NOTES
Additional Information:2020: This two-story commercial building was built c.1910 and displays Neoclassical style features. It is clad in brick, stone, and concrete with a flat roof. Fenestration consists of fixed, wood-frame storefront windows with multi-pane leaded glass transoms along the front (southeast) facade. Decorative details include a brick panel with geometric header design along the top third of the southeast facade, concrete quoins at the south and east corners, and carved lettering spelling “BANK” above the building entrance. Alterations include the removal of stone windowsills; in addition, the central, recessed front entrance has been altered with a modern door, infilled transom, and the removal of the original flanking concrete columns and stone cornice.

This building likely served as the State Bank of Lodi from 1936 until 1961. While the 1999 Lodi Intensive Survey references a former location of the bank at 108 Lodi Street as nonextant, this building is located at that address, appears to be of historic age, and displays a “BANK” sign; therefore, this survey proposes that the building is extant and is the subject property. The State Bank of Lodi (known as the Bank of Lodi until 1897) was founded c.1885 and occupied several other downtown locations including 137-139 S. Main Street (AHI No. 3542, contributing resource in the National Register-listed Lodi Downtown Historic District) and, later, 130 Lodi Street (AHI No. 111272, see above) and 102 N. Main Street.
