NOTES
Additional Information:September 2020:
#242146 is surrounded by agricultural fields.

The dwelling and two of its outbuildings were originally part of a historic farmstead that is shown in a historic aerial photograph from 1938 (USDA 1938). According to Ashland County’s Assessor Data, the dwelling was built in 1926 (Assessor Data 2020). It is a one-and-a-half story vernacular dwelling with a clipped gable, interlocking shingle roof, replacement aluminum siding, and a concrete masonry unit foundation. A brick chimney is located on the eastern roof slope. Fenestration includes one-over-one, sliding, and single-pane replacement vinyl windows. The dwelling is accessed via a front-gabled porch on its west elevation. It has gabled additions on the south and east elevations. A number of new materials were added to the dwelling in the 1950s, at the same time or after the additions, including the aluminum siding, the tripartite picture window, and filigree metal porch supports and balustrade. The resource also includes a circa 1980 side-gabled two-car garage, and two circa 1930 gabled outbuildings with wood siding. All structures are in good condition.
