Additional Information: | This Queen Anne-style house was constructed around 1895. The house is roughly rectangular in plan, two stories in height, with a hipped roof with lower front gable. A two-story polygonal bay is located on the south elevation of the house; this bay has a steeply-pitched “witches hat” roof. The building is clad in clapboard with wood trim and has a modern hexagonal shingle roof. A one-story porch extends across the front of the house. The porch has a low, clapboard-clad half wall, classical columns, and scroll-cut brackets. The main cornice of the house has larger, incised brackets, wood eaves with classical molding, and a panelized, scroll-cut gable ornament. Fenestration consists of one-over-one double hung windows with flat surrounds and cap molding. A larger picture window consisting of a large lower light with a fixed cottage light above is located on the front elevation. The front door consists of a pair of wood entry doors, capped by a decorative transom. All windows and doors appear to be original, and at the time of survey, several windows retained their original four-light storm windows. |
