Additional Information: | Surveyed in July 2020 by UWM-CRM as part of the WisDOT USH 63 reconstruction project. The Contemporary-style Cumberland Federal Bank was built around 1975. The bank is irregular in plan and consists of several rectangular building masses of varying heights. A three-lane drivethrough is located on the south end of the building. The lower portions of the building are clad in variegated red brick. A projecting bay contains the entryway and three large fixed windows. Fenestration consists of two-, three-, and four-part windows of varying heights with brick sills. Each window opening is framed by thin vertical piers, 8” wide by 8” deep, that project from the building face and continue from grade up to the top of the brickwork. Several set of piers, without window openings, are also located on the front and side elevations. The upper portions of the building are clad in wide, dark-stained boards that overhang the brick wall face below. The drivethrough roof is clad in the same boards, as are two-story portions of the building at the rear of the property. |
