Additional Information: | This structure is part of the A.D. Thompson Cabin property (AHI 15911) Located between the A.D. Thompson Cabin and the Children’s Cabin is a log structure reminiscent of a teepee. This structure is comprised of seven straight poles arranged in a circle and gathered at a point approximately eight feet from the ground. The gathered poles appear to be balanced without the aid of any nails or binding of any kind. The entire structure is slightly asymmetrical, measuring roughly ten feet wide at the base and fourteen feet high at the top of the tallest pole. It was constructed circa 1935 for recreational purposes and it is unlikely the teepee was ever intended to provide legitimate shelter. |
