Additional Information: | •Calvary Cemetery (1857): (The following information, including bibliographic entries [see above], was taken directly from the Determination of Eligibility for Calvary Cemetery, prepared in 2013 by Mead & Hunt, Madison.) The 75 acre site was consecrated in 1857 and is the oldest extant Catholic cemetery in the city. Approximately 80,000 people have been buried at Calvary. Most of the grave sites have typical granite or limestone headstones, but there are numerous vaults, crypts, mausoleums and monuments. |
