NOTES
Additional Information:2019 -- HRL -- This former Chicago & North Western Railroad (now Union Pacific Railroad) bridge across I-43, and its immediately adjacent roads to the east and west, is a simple four-span, post-and-beam structure. The posts are the poured concrete abutments, as well as three intermediate piers, and the beams are the girders that extend from post-to-post and that carry the tracks. The girders are fabricated from plates, angles and rivets. The single set of tracks is ballasted and flanked by a metal walkway, to either side of which is a three-course, railing.
