NOTES
Additional Information:2019: Powers Elementary School was constructed c.1960 in a Contemporary style. The building is irregular in plan with a concrete foundation, brick walls, and a flat roof that features a metal cornice along the perimeter of the roofline throughout the building. The front elevation faces north and is asymmetrical in plan with a slightly upward-slanting flat roof with steel supports projecting over the front drive to form a porte-cochere at the primary entrance. West of this, the façade of the building contains irregularly-spaced single-pane windows with concrete block infill on either side. The windows are modern replacements and the concrete block suggests that the building originally featured a long row of windows along the façade. A taller gymnasium mass rises behind (south of) the lower classroom building mass. A large addition, sympathetic with the aesthetic of the original building, was constructed off of the rear (south) elevation sometime after 1993.
