Additional Information: | 2019: This 1-story industrial building was constructed c.1950. The building currently serves as the Western Container manufacturing facility. The building is irregular in plan with a concrete foundation, red brick walls, and a flat roof. The front elevation faces north and is asymmetrical in plan. A projecting bay (slightly shorter than the remainder of the building) is located near the center of the façade and contains two pairs of sliding windows and a recessed entrance in its north wall. The remainder of the façade contains banks of large three-pane windows with individual hopper windows below (these replaced original factory-style windows within the last 10 years). Truck bays are located at both ends of the façade. A series of large additions to the rear (south) of the original building occurred after 1993 and have more than doubled the footprint of the original facility. The additions are generally of metal construction. |
