| Additional Information: | 2019 (by Heritage Research, Ltd). - A review of aerial photos in the UW Madison, Department of Geography Map Library reveals that the freeway over which this bridge passes was constructed between 1956 and 1963. This is the bridge's date of construction ascribed to circa 1960. 2019 (by HRL) - Constructed when the freeway was built in the late 1950s/early 1960s, this two-span bridge employs a post-and-beam structural system. It utilizes the concrete abutments, as well as the concrete piers between the abutments, as the posts and the steel girders built of plates, angles, stay plates and rivets, and that extend from abutment to center piers to abutment, as the beams. steel beam or plate girder bridge |
