Additional Information: | 2019 (by Heritage Research, Ltd.) - Oriented on a north/south axis on the east side of N. Port Washington Road, to which the house is oriented, this is a two-story, side gable, light red brick facility. The entrance is centered in the west façade and flanked by sidelights, all sheltered by a small, gabled porch roof carried by three, squared wooden posts in each of the outer corners. Centered above the entry is a one-over-one-light window. Flanking the entry are large openings with a center picture window flanked by narrow, one-over-one-light sashes, above which is a plane window head. Second floor windows are immediately above and mirror those on the first floor – except they are not quite as tall. The north and south endwalls each claim three windows on the first and second floors, and a narrow opening in the gable peak, all of which are symmetrically placed. All windows have concrete sills. Factory worker Andrew T Femrite acquired this 1942/1943 investment property from developer James L Callan, and his wife, Jane L., on 02 March 1944. |
