Additional Information:STOKKE TOWER IS A 10 STORY BRICK AND CONCRETE, CONTEMPORARY STYLE BUILDING DESIGNED FOR SENIOR APARTMENT HOUSING, PAID FOR BY THE LA CROSSE HOUSING AUTHORITY. THE BUILDING WAS DESIGNED BY ROBERT HACKNER OF HACKNER, SCHROEDER AND ASSOCIATES OF LA CROSSE, WI. ROBERT HACKNER ENDED UP DESIGNING MANY OF THE PUBLIC HOUSING HIGH RISES AND FAMILY HOUSING NEIGHBORHOODS FOR THE LA CROSSE HOUSING AUTHORITY IN THE 1960S AND '70S. THIS WAS THE SECOND PUBLIC HOUSING HIGH RISE BUILT IN LA CROSSE (THE FIRST WAS THE 9 STORY STOFFEL COURT AT 333 7TH ST S, BUILT IN 1963-64).
