Additional Information: | 2019 - This one-story bank building was designed by the Appleton architecture firm of Zwack Associates Ltd. and built in 1972. It is an example of the New Formalism style, a modernist interpretation of classical architecture that was popular beginning in the 1960s for bank buildings. This building has a broad rectangular footprint with brick walls at each end of a concrete-framed, glass-walled core. A character defining feature of this building, and the style in general, is the repeated arches across the façade beneath the roof line. The primary entrance is centered on the façade and accessed by a central walkway covered by a flat roof canopy with concrete supports. |
