Additional Information: | This one-story public works structure houses City of Madison Unit Well No. 6. The well was dug in 1938 and still functions as the primary well for the UW campus area as well as neighborhoods on the near west side. It is a seasonally operated well and runs from April to November of each year. The structure is clad in stone veneer with each corner accentuated by pilasters that extend slightly above the flat roofline. On the north facade is a central front entrance flanked on either side by a two-over-two double hung wood sash window with stone sills and lintels. |
