Additional Information:2023: Complete facade remodel since 2019, including the first-floor storefront, the removal of the central, second-floor bay window and replacement with three, smaller windows, along with siding covering the original brick. Formerly addressed separately as 219 W Blackhawk.
Bibliographic References:The Douglass’s owned the frame building on this lot by no later than 1874, Tax rolls, City of Prairie du Chien, 1874. In 1905, it was purchased by Frank Voth, who continued the confectionery and notions business, Newsbrief (re: Douglas to Voth), The Kickapoo Chief (Wauzeka, WI), 27 July 1905, 8. Voth also added the brick veneered front prior to 1912.
